My Philosophy.
As Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” As I grow and learn as a future educator, I realize that teaching is so much more than I could have ever imagined. I am committed to making my classroom a fun and safe environment meant to foster all types of learners. Every child is unique, and every classroom is unique as well. I want all my students to feel comfortable with their peers and myself, so we all have an open and friendly relationship where learning is accountable to all. I believe learning should be fun, hands-on, and interactive. My role as an educator is to provide students with every opportunity possible to cultivate their knowledge in a safe, supportive, and engaging environment.
Teaching involves continuous learning and personal development. Just as Phil Collins sings, "In learning you will teach, and in teaching you will learn." I wholeheartedly embrace this quote and believe that teachers must constantly learn from their colleagues, mentors, and, most importantly, their students. Every classroom experience is unique, and not everything goes according to plan, which is why I believe in a flexible teaching approach. I take the time to familiarize myself with each student, maintain open communication with their parents, understand their interests, and then use this knowledge to actively engage the students in a manner that promotes their success.
I truly believe that every child can succeed and learn if they are simply allowed to do so. If the students can learn according to their strengths and interests, they will gain the knowledge and insight necessary to become successful and independent individuals who can achieve anything their hearts desire. I believe that giving students an open-minded and non-judgmental space to explore ideas and investigate concepts will allow them to become successful individuals.
