Hello
About Me.
Welcome to my Portfolio.
My name is Saadia, and I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program at Durham College of Applied Arts. I consider myself to be positive, energetic, caring, empathetic, dedicated, innovative, and goal-oriented. I adore working with children and have a flexible teaching style that caters to all students and abilities. I have been working with children since I was 16 years old, starting with babysitting, teaching arts and crafts classes, and assisting in summer camps. Now, I am a mother of two beautiful boys. However, after gaining some experience as an educator, I realized that teaching children requires much more than simply loving and helping them. Being an educator is more about providing children with the opportunity to experiment and develop in all aspects of who they are and who they are yet to become. I believe that children should have a learning experience that is active and goes beyond the textbook. I am passionate about teaching children, and I particularly enjoy working with children with special needs. I have over 10 years of experience working with special needs children, and I have a diverse background with much to offer as an educator. My goal is to incorporate my personal and work experiences to be an empathetic, passionate, enthusiastic, and diverse educator who will make a positive contribution to the lives of children and our future.
In my free time, I love spending time with my family, going for hikes with my dog, playing board games with my children, and painting.
